Really Really Quick Update
So, this will be really really short and sweet before a really real entry that I will do really really soon I really really promise.
But, I know that you've all been losing sleep wondering whether or not I ever bought the shoes. I know this because you've all been e-mailing me saying, "So, Martha, did you ever buy the shoes? You totally deserve to buy the shoes! You are so pretty and awesome and such a great writer and all-around superb person that I will personally send you large sums of money so that you can acquire the footwear that you have earned, just by being yourself." Okay, maybe I made that last sentence up just a little bit. But I have received an awful lot of e-mail inquiring whether or not I gave in to the dark side and doomed myself just a little bit further into a future of visits to the podiatrist from wearing stiletto heels. (Honestly, I had no idea that so many of you cared about my little shoe fetish.)
I'm happy to report that the answer is yes. Kind of. A kind reader let me know that they also make The Shoes in an open-toed version, and I was instantly even more powerless in their grasp than I was in the original version. The order has been placed, the credit card has been charged, UPS has been notified, and the open-toed version of The Shoes shall soon be mine. A new pedicure is in order, now that my tootsies will be showing.
Joe is really pushing for us to be frugal lately, as I mentioned in the original shoe entry. But tonight, I informed him that I really really NEEDED to buy The Shoes. That I had been meek and patient and had bided my time for almost two weeks (and it is not in my nature to do that), and that the credit card was really really about to be wielded:
Joe: "Okay, but you have to blog about it, and tell everyone that I encouraged you to buy those shoes."
Martha: "Um, okay."
Joe: "Make me sound like the really good guy. Not just like I encouraged you to buy them -- like I forced you."
Martha: "So I should say that I wanted to donate money to tsunami relief and you said, 'No honey, you need to buy THE SHOES'?"
Joe: "Yes! Just like that!"
So I bought 'em.
(p.s. No hate mail please -- the credit card has also been wielded for tsunami relief.)

Oh my! Martha. Those open toed ones.......
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you tell I'm a sucker for open toed heels? Yeah, I thought so!)

I'm glad you feel better. Sides, it's not like you don't do good everyday for a job! :)
Some people like going to the movies, some people like going out to eat. You like shoes. It's just what happens down the road.

Good for you. Just remember that you have to send them to me if you start smoking again.

Nothing wrong with that - do something nice for others AND for yourself! :-)

Those shoes have cherry-like doo-das on them! Do I not need cherry-themed shoes? For which to match my blog design?
I do need them. I also need a non-maxxed-out credit card. Shit!

And look at how on sale they were, Martha! Of course, it was preordained that you had to buy the shoes. No money jury in the world would convict you of mis-spending. Or something. I'm sort of salivating thinking about the many and varied shades of red you could paint your toes to match them. Beautiful!

Well, as long as I'm using my powers for good...or is it evil? Crap. I always get those two confused.
PS - Thank you, thank you, thank you for the link.
